An impacted tooth is one that remains stuck below the gum or bone and has not erupted normally. This most often involves wisdom teeth, canines and premolars. Unerupted teeth can press on the roots of neighbouring teeth, causing resorption or mobility, and may trigger pericoronitis, follicular cyst formation or even odontogenic tumours. For these reasons planned extraction is usually recommended once they are diagnosed. At BadamDent treatment begins with precise diagnostics: a panoramic film and CBCT (3D X-ray) reveal the tooth's exact position, root shape and its relationship to the inferior alveolar nerve, the maxillary sinus and neighbouring teeth. Based on this information the surgeon plans the least invasive possible procedure. Under local anaesthesia, with sedation when required, the doctor raises a gum flap, removes the minimum necessary bone using piezosurgical instruments (without damaging surrounding bone) and extracts the tooth in segments. The wound is sutured and biologic material (PRF, collagen membrane) may be placed. The procedure takes 30–60 minutes. Post-operative pain and swelling are controlled with cold compresses and standard analgesics and usually fully subside within 3–5 days. Sutures are removed after 7–10 days. After extraction, the BadamDent team contacts you within 24 hours and monitors the healing process. If you have any discomfort or if painkillers do not help, you can reach us immediately — comfortable and safe recovery is our top priority. Implant or prosthesis planning following the extraction is discussed in the same visit. Suture removal is provided free of charge.
