An implant-supported hybrid prosthesis is one of the most comfortable and modern solutions for full-jaw restoration. The hybrid prosthesis is screw-retained on 4–6 implants — the patient cannot remove it; only the dentist takes it out for professional cleaning. This creates a much more comfortable experience than a classic removable denture: no movement, no slipping, minimal dietary restrictions and restoration of 80–90% of chewing efficiency. The hybrid prosthesis consists of an acrylic base with a titanium or chrome-cobalt framework on which individually selected artificial teeth (ceramic-acrylic or composite) are placed. Aesthetically, the hybrid prosthesis imitates both teeth and gums — critical when gum recession is present. Treatment protocol: implantation first (4–6 implants), 3–6 months of osseointegration, then the prosthetic stage (impression, try-in, final fitting — 3–4 visits, 4–6 weeks total). In some cases an “immediate loading” protocol can be used — a temporary prosthesis is placed immediately after implantation, the definitive one after 6 months. Ideal for: full edentulism, patients uncomfortable with classic removable dentures and those seeking comprehensive restoration. Main advantages of the hybrid prosthesis: high aesthetics, modern comfort, chewing efficiency and biocompatibility. Downside: requires daily hygiene — special brushes and super-floss are used to clean around the implants. An annual professional check-up and cleaning are recommended. Service life of 15–20+ years.
