A metal-ceramic crown (PFM — Porcelain Fused to Metal) is a decades-proven, strong and cost-effective prosthetic solution. It is still considered one of the main methods of dental prosthetics. The substructure is made of a chrome-cobalt (CrCo), titanium or nickel-chrome alloy and is then layered and fired with tooth-shaded porcelain. The metal core provides high resistance to chewing forces — the crown does not break or crack. The porcelain layer creates a natural tooth appearance, is biocompatible and does not stain. At BadamDent metal-ceramic crowns are fabricated using both the traditional impression technique and modern digital CAD/CAM workflows — increasing the fit accuracy. Treatment protocol: consultation and planning, minimal tooth preparation (1.5–2 mm), impression-taking (analogue or digital intraoral scan), temporary crown placement, laboratory fabrication (7–10 days), try-in and cementation. Treatment is completed in 2 visits. Ideal for: posterior teeth, bridges, standard implant restorations and budget-conscious patients. Aesthetic drawback: a metallic shadow may appear at the gum margin, so for the anterior zone zirconia or all-ceramic alternatives are recommended. When properly fabricated and combined with good hygiene, it serves trouble-free for 10–15 years. BadamDent provides a written 5-year warranty. All prosthetic work at BadamDent comes with a written warranty. Transparency is maintained at every stage — price, timeline, material and laboratory are agreed with you in advance. For long-term success we recommend hygiene guidance and an annual professional check-up. Patient comfort is our most important measure of quality.
