Press Ceramic Crown

Press Ceramic Crown

A press-ceramic crown (lithium disilicate, IPS e.max Press) is a metal-free, monolithic ceramic prosthetic solution developed by Ivoclar Vivadent (Liechtenstein). The material has a flexural strength of 360–400 MPa — three times higher than classic feldspathic porcelain, although slightly lower than zirconia. Manufacturing technology: a ceramic ingot is pressed into shape under high temperature and pressure (a method similar to lost-wax injection moulding) — ensuring internal structural integrity and protecting from microcracks. Key advantages: first, exceptional aesthetics — the material reproduces natural tooth translucency ideally; second, the absence of a metal core means no dark line forms at the gum margin — critical for the anterior zone; third, biocompatible and non-allergenic; fourth, stain-resistant with year-long colour stability. Treatment protocol: aesthetic consultation, minimal tooth preparation (1–1.5 mm), digital intraoral scan or analogue impression, temporary crown, laboratory fabrication (7–10 days), try-in and adhesive cementation. Adhesive cementation — active bonding with a composite cement — further reinforces the crown. Ideal for: single teeth in the aesthetic zone (incisors, canines, premolars), inlay/onlay restorations and veneers. Often used for aesthetic implant restorations as well. When properly fabricated, it serves trouble-free for 15+ years. BadamDent provides a written 5-year warranty. All prosthetic work at BadamDent comes with a written warranty. Transparency is maintained at every stage — price, timeline, material and laboratory are agreed with you in advance. For long-term success we recommend hygiene guidance and an annual professional check-up. Patient comfort is our most important measure of quality.
