An E-max veneer is the most natural-looking veneer available, made of lithium disilicate ceramic by Ivoclar Vivadent (Liechtenstein). Material properties: 360–400 MPa strength, perfect light transmission (translucency), flawless imitation of the internal optical properties of a natural tooth. E-max veneers are just 0.3–0.5 mm thick — falling into the “no-prep” or minimal-prep veneer category, meaning the tooth is practically not ground down or is reduced only minimally. This is the greatest advantage of the veneer procedure — minimal invasiveness, maximum aesthetics. Classic crown work requires 1.5–2 mm of preparation; veneers require 5–10 times less.
