Bone Grafting

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting (bone augmentation, GBR — Guided Bone Regeneration) is the reconstruction of alveolar bone resorbed after tooth loss, trauma, infection or periodontitis. This procedure is the foundation of successful implantation — without bone, an implant cannot be placed. At BadamDent we use bone materials from several categories: autogenous (from the patient's own bone), allogeneic (donor-derived — Maxgraft, Puros), xenogeneic (animal-derived — Bio-Oss, OsteoBiol, Cerabone) or alloplastic (synthetic — TCP, BioCer). The most suitable material and technique are chosen individually by the surgeon, based on the defect size, shape and location and on the patient's biology. Treatment begins with CBCT diagnostics: 3D visualisation of the defect, bone quality and surrounding anatomy. The surgical protocol is matched to the defect type: socket preservation (at the moment of extraction), horizontal augmentation (width gain), vertical augmentation (height gain) or block grafting for larger defects. Autologous bioactivators such as PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) or PRGF accelerate healing. A resorbable or non-resorbable membrane is placed on top to prevent soft-tissue invasion into the bone zone. After 4–6 months — 6–9 months for larger defects — the implant is placed into high-quality, regenerated bone. With proper planning the success rate exceeds 95%. After surgery, the patient receives a detailed written rehabilitation protocol: dietary rules, mouth rinsing, application of cold compresses and a medication schedule. The BadamDent team maintains regular phone contact for 7–10 days. Suture removal and follow-up check-ups are included in the treatment package. Every operation is performed to the highest safety standards.
